By downloading or using FoldNotes, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.

About Us

FoldNotes is developed and published by Foldsoft Pty Ltd (ACN 697 343 570), a company registered in New South Wales, Australia.

Licence

FoldNotes is commercial software. A valid licence key is required to use the macOS app beyond any trial or beta period. Licences are issued by Paddle, our Merchant of Record.

Your licence is personal and non-transferable. You may activate it on up to three (3) devices that you own. To use FoldNotes on a different device, you must first deactivate it on an existing one via the app’s Licence menu. You may not share, resell, or redistribute licence keys.

iOS

The iOS version of FoldNotes is distributed through Apple’s TestFlight (during beta) and will be submitted to the App Store for general release. Use of the iOS app is also subject to Apple’s standard terms of service.

Your Data

Your notes belong to you. FoldNotes stores them as plain markdown files on your device and/or in your iCloud Drive. We do not have access to your data and make no claim to it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Acceptable Use

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble FoldNotes, except to the extent permitted by applicable law. You may not circumvent licence validation mechanisms.

Consumer Guarantees

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Foldsoft Pty Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of FoldNotes. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your licence in the 12 months preceding the claim.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable mandatory consumer protection laws.

Disclaimer

Subject to any consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded by law, FoldNotes is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. We do our best to make it reliable, but we cannot guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted. Back up your data.

Termination

We may terminate your licence if you breach these terms. Upon termination, you must stop using FoldNotes. Your notes remain yours — they are plain files on your device.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via the website or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of FoldNotes after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
